Sarah Janavicius led the July workshop in textural collage.She brought along examples of her work and demonstrated a variety of methods for producing the textures used in the collage, from fibreglass to sponging and an elaborate system of blobs of paint in layers which were then picked off revealing patterns (that's commitment).
Using templates supplied or ones we created, the collages took shape. Sarah made it look rather easier than it turned out to be but some success came from the challenge and discipline of working out what pieces worked next to each other. Another good attendance - but where were all the boys? Collage not your thing, chaps?
